A Nostalgic Trip Back To Our Childhood Days

Blackboard for Nokia 5800 is simple drawing application that simulating a blackboard and brings you back to your childhood days and early school years.

It is not as complex and powerful as the Paint Pad application and offers just a few basic control buttons such as info, chalk, sponge and exit. Chalk is of course used for drawing on a virtual blackboard while the sponge tool is responsible for erasing your drawings.

Never Get Lost In The Dark Again!

How many times have you tried to use your phone as a torch and than realized that the weak screen illumination really isn’t that great in total darkness not to mention that you need to frequently press buttons to keep the light on!?

Sure, there is an alternative, ability to use the camera led flash as a torch is one of the most commonly used secondary features of the modern camera phones although it is not well-implemented on most of the S60 phones.

Actually, I’ve already expressed my thoughts about the missing torch feature and appeal on Nokia to add more functionality to the side keys in idle mode just like on the good old Nokia N93, but unfortunately, Nokia didn’t take our comments, complaints and sug... .. .

Paint Pad For 5th Ed

Paint Pad is a significantly improved version of the Forum Nokia’s Mobile Paint sample application for S60 5th edition devices.

The interface has been given a complete overhaul and it is pure pleasure to use it now. It brings some new features to the table, such as ability to use photos as backgrounds and input text with different size and colours.

I know it sounds old-fashioned, and maybe I am, but I just love the sound of these old bell phones, although I have to be honest and say that I don’t like rotary phones, mainly because of the waiting for that rotary dial to make its excruciating slow rotation.

We had one, actually that was so common when I was growing up and I remember when you wanted to make a quick call; it was really painful to wait for the dial return to the starting position between each number.

Y-Browser Gets Minor Update
Still Not Fully Compatible With S60 5th Ed!

Dr. Jukka just rolled out yet another update for his Y-Browser, probably the most popular 3rd party file manager for the Nokia 3rd and 5th edition devices as well.

There is no change log so I can’t tell you what is new but I can confirm that is still not fully compatible with 5th edition devices although it works fine and is still the best solution for owners of the touch devices.

The main issue, inability to use the onscreen keyboard remains unsolved for now and I just hope that Jukka will read this article and try to fix it as soon as possible.

It is really an annoying issue because we can’t use some really important features, it impossible to rename files, create folders and run search for example. It is indeed ca... ..
