+ AlertMe BETA: Protect Your Phone from Thieves!

01 October 2008

You can't wait for the Samir's nAlertMe!?
Get the Python based AlertMe Than!

AlertMeI have already informed you about the brand new Samir's site and the cool nAlertMe application that is supposed to be already available but unfortunately it is not.

nAlertMe is anti-theft application for your that uses internal motion sensor to detect sudden movement and then trigger the very loud audible alarm.

Anyway, one of our fellow forum members (YILDIRIM also known as Mclightning) got bored of annoying waiting for the nAlertMe and decided to create the application with basically the same functionality.

Maybe it looks like a stolen idea but we could also take it as an alternative to Samir software that is not available yet.

Well, if nothing lese it is always good to have an option and to be able to choose from many different products to find one which meet your needs perfectly.

For more info about application and the whole project join the pretty healthy forum discussion and help him to improve it and make it even better!

Mclightning: As u can know we wait so long time for nAlertMe and i get bored of this. i created an app. like nAlertMe 3 days ago and i wrote a topic to get help about making sis file from py files.then today i solved how to make sis from python files and thanks JimmPoo and pocketsly for helps.

How To use:

  • First of all u need to save the position of the phone from the "Save Pos." menu
  • Then when u press start button it will start the protection
if phone moves it will start to alarming
  • You can change the sensitivity from the menu by writing a number between 0 and 10.but Please dont write numbers lower than 5.write 10 for low sensitivity. 5 is default

The application is developed in Python and of course requires the latest version for proper work. As usually, more info over at our forum section ;o)

Thanks to

Croozeus.com for appuifw tutorials
Mobilenin.com for accelerometer tutorial
Mobapps.org for syntax tutorial

In simple words, idea is that if you leave your phone unattended in a public space and someone tries to make off with it, accelerometer will trig the alarm and produce the loud alarm sound, and you will at least have the opportunity to give chase LOL :]
